  • Explore Disney Lakeshore Lodge: Walt Disney World’s Nature-Inspired Retreat

Get ready for an exciting new escape at Walt Disney World! Nestled on the south shores of Bay Lake, Disney Lakeshore Lodge is coming, and it promises a unique blend of nature and Disney magic.

This brand-new, nature-inspired resort is set to open its doors in summer 2027. We’re getting all the inside scoop as this amazing project comes to life, from initial concepts to those delightful finishing touches.

Let’s dive into the first big reveal: The Wetlands, a sprawling outdoor recreation area just beyond the lobby, surrounded by the stunning beauty of Bay Lake.

The Wetlands design focuses on both fun and pure relaxation. Younger guests will step right into nature’s story with whimsical wet and dry play areas. These spaces draw inspiration from the music and storytelling of Disney’s Pocahontas, echoing the beautiful lyrics “the heron and the otter are my friends” from “Colors of the Wind.” It’s a vibrant celebration of playful connections found in nature!

The heart of The Wetlands is Lakeside Lagoon, the resort’s zero-entry feature pool. Families of all ages will gather here under the Florida sun, with a thrilling spiral waterslide dropping into the refreshing water. For a quieter escape, Perspective Pond, tucked away on the opposite side of the resort, offers a leisure pool and whirlpool spa. This spot is perfectly positioned for evening views of Magic Kingdom’s fireworks – pure magic!

Whether you dream of a peaceful morning float or watching the sunset over Bay Lake, every corner of The Wetlands connects you to nature. It perfectly balances breathtaking beauty and tranquility with moments of discovery and play.

Stroll along the scenic paths, and you’ll even uncover fun facts about the local flora and fauna. Keep your eyes peeled for a special plaque honoring a beloved historic attraction that once stood right here!

And the best part? All this fun is just a boat ride away from Magic Kingdom! Staying at a Walt Disney World hotel gives you access to unique amenities, complimentary transportation across Walt Disney World, and extra time in the theme parks.

Back on April 21, 2026, Disney first introduced us to Lakeshore Lodge, revealing it as a waterfront retreat where families can discover nature’s wonder through Disney storytelling.

This resort embodies Walt Disney’s lifelong admiration for the great outdoors. Its design pays tribute to decades of animated stories rooted in nature, with subtle nods to classic films. Think the lush forests of Bambi, the colorful winds of Pocahontas, or the sweeping glacial landscapes of Brother Bear.

Nestled along the tranquil shores of Bay Lake, Disney Lakeshore Lodge invites families to slow down, connect with their surroundings, and make cherished memories. Expect spectacular floor-to-ceiling windows that welcome natural sunlight, showcasing views of the local flora and fauna. The outdoors truly flows seamlessly into the resort’s architecture, artwork, and ambiance.

With 967 beautifully designed rooms, this new addition to the Disney Resort collection offers a variety of stays. Choose from cozy studios to spacious suites. Many rooms will boast peaceful Bay Lake views by day and incredible Magic Kingdom’s fireworks views by night. Plus, new one- and two-bedroom Lake Houses along the waterfront offer an even closer connection to nature, with plenty of space to relax and unwind.
