  • Shanghai Disney Resort Unveils Stunning Crane Sculptures for Conservation

Just in time for World Migratory Bird Day, Shanghai Disney Resort has unveiled three breathtaking Siberian crane sculptures at Wishing Star Park. These magnificent artworks showcase the critically endangered cranes mid-flight, celebrating their grace and strength. It’s a beautiful way to connect guests with nature and highlight Disney’s deep commitment to conservation, especially for those enjoying a stay at the lakeside hotels.

The “Magic Along the Flyway” Siberian Crane Sculpture Unveiling Ceremony recently brought together a fantastic group at Wishing Star Park. Imagine seeing government officials, experts from the International Crane Foundation (ICF), local students, teachers, the artist, and even Shanghai Disney Resort Cast Members all gathering to celebrate these new additions. It was a special moment, highlighting a shared passion for protecting these incredible birds.

For the last ten years, Shanghai Disney Resort has championed conservation, bringing together non-profits and community partners to inspire real change. Thanks to the Disney Conservation Fund (DCF) and the International Crane Foundation (ICF), the Siberian crane population along the eastern flyway has nearly doubled! These new sculptures help tell that amazing story, drawing a direct link between Wishing Star Park – a crucial wintering spot for migratory birds – and Poyang Lake, a key habitat for these cranes. It’s a brilliant way for guests to dive into the world of crane conservation and understand the incredible journeys these birds undertake.

Wishing Star Park is a beautiful lakeside escape for guests staying at the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and the upcoming Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel, opening this winter. These new sculptures make the park experience even richer. They invite you to pause, soak in nature, and uncover the resort’s commitment to wildlife, all while enjoying a relaxing multi-day stay. What a perfect blend of magic and environmental awareness!
