  • Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril: Major Refurbishment Starting January 2027

Calling all adventurers: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril is getting ready to take a break for a massive refurbishment! Starting January 4, 2027, this iconic Disneyland Park attraction will close its doors for several months to undergo its most significant overhaul since opening.

Attraction Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril à Disneyland Paris, au cœur de ruines antiques en pierre ornées de statues de serpents.

The teams from Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, Design & Delivery, and Maintenance are joining forces to thoroughly upkeep this signature Adventureland attraction and guarantee the quality of this year-round experience.

    A Restored Temple

Since opening back in 1993, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril invites guests to explore a mysterious temple right in the heart of Adventureland, surrounded by ancient ruins and rocky scenery. To preserve this adventure and its unique atmosphere, crews will work specifically on the rockwork making up the temple, with certain sections being entirely rebuilt.

Teams will also carry out deep maintenance on the ride’s structural supports, focusing on the tracks and walkways, which includes replacing handrails as well as wooden and metal decking.

Various prop elements across the attraction will also be carefully dismantled and sent over to the Central Workshops, where craftsmen will completely restore them to their original glory.

    A Freshly Renewed Environment

Beyond the ride itself, the queue line will see its wooden bridges fully rebuilt, while the stair ornaments, camp set pieces, and the iconic all-terrain vehicle will all get a fresh coat of love.

The surrounding area of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril is getting some much-needed attention too. The scenic lighting for the ride, the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost shop, and the immediate vicinity will be completely upgraded with brand-new projectors and modernized lighting effects.

From pre-construction prep to bringing the sets, structures, and scenic elements back to life, this major project brings together complementary expertises with one shared goal: protecting this classic adventure while improving comfort for both guests and Cast Members.

See you back in Adventureland for fresh thrills once the work wraps up!
