  • Disneyland® Park will be even more magical in 2025 thanks to Walt Disney Imagineering Paris

While transformation work is in full swing at Walt Disney Studios® Park and its unprecedented expansion, the Imagineers are also working on a number of projects of different scales throughout the destination, in particular Disneyland® Park, to make the guest experience even more magical and enjoyable. Here’s a quick overview.

Behind Walt Disney Imagineering lies the creative force that imagines, designs and builds all the Disney Parks, Hotels, attractions and cruise ships around the world. Of the 400 or so Imagineers based in Paris, around 70 make up the Design & Show Quality team, responsible for guaranteeing quality and improving the Disneyland® Paris experience over time.

Artists, engineers, architects, scenic, audio, visual and special effects designers – these talented individuals with a wide range of expertise work hard every day to ensure that the guest experience at the French Disney Parks is as magical as ever. To mark the 33rd anniversary of Disneyland® Paris, this team of Imagineers have shared a glimpse of their future projects:

More magic for Rivers of the Far West at Frontierland®

After the refurbishment of the iconic Big Thunder Mountain attraction in Frontierland® will follow that of Rivers of the Far West: in addition to the in-depth maintenance of the landscapes and animal figures that dot the shoreline around the rivers, new scenes inspired by the original drawings of Imagineer and Disney Legend Marc Davis, such as a buffalo on a prairie  and deer drinking from the waterfall, will be added along the route. You’ll be able to catch a glimpse of them during the relaxing cruise aboard the iconic Molly Brown boat, which is also being renovated from stem to stern. For the sake of detail and to make this universe even more rich and authentic, the Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and Design & Delivery teams have found authentic props typical of the American West dating from the 19th century!

A new treasure hunt in the caves of Adventure Isle

The Imagineers also design playful experiences to enhance the various Lands of Disneyland Paris: they are currently working on a permanent treasure hunt activity in the mysterious caves on Adventure Isle. The story behind this hunt will be closely linked to that of Pirates of the Caribbean. On scrolls posted at the entrance to the caves, iconic characters from the attraction will challenge visitors to find their belongings! You’ll have to explore the various caves to search for, among other objects, a bunch of keys lost by a dog… And he absolutely needs them to guard the pirates locked up in the fort’s dark prisons! This playful installation, made up of hand-painted posters and props moulded after those in the attraction, will debute in fall 2025: in addition to enriching the Adventure Isle storyline, it will also further link the different experiences offered at Adventureland®.
