You know, at Disneyland Paris, magic isn’t just about rides and shows. It often lives in the incredible details, meticulously crafted by talented artisans. For Disney Adventure World, nearly 400 top-notch suppliers helped bring this new vision to life!

Take a moment to admire the stunning marquee above The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge entrance. It’s a true masterpiece, a beautiful blend of technical genius and pure elegance. And it’s all thanks to the legendary Schaffner workshops.

The Schaffner family, based in Alsace, boasts an incredible heritage. They’ve been masters of metalwork, fire, and the forge for seven generations, since the early 19th century! That’s a deep passion you can truly feel in their work.

When their traditional expertise met the boundless creativity of the Walt Disney Imagineering Paris teams, magic truly happened. This wasn’t just another project for Schaffner; it pushed the boundaries of both aesthetic ambition and technical complexity.

Vincent Schaffner himself explained the hurdles: « We had no similar references to work from, so our teams dove deep into research to figure out the best approach. » Imagine modeling something this intricate in 3D, aiming for millimeter-level precision on such a massive piece. That’s a true design feat!

This project demanded top technical skills and unwavering precision, every step of the way. We’re talking hundreds of hours of work, brought to life by highly skilled artisans – even a « Meilleur Ouvrier de France » (one of the best craftsmen in France!) contributed.

They expertly blended traditional ironwork techniques with cutting-edge innovations, like laser welding. This unique combination achieved the incredible quality and delicate finish we see in the final piece. Impressive, right?

Using stainless steel for such intricate artistic ironwork adds another layer of difficulty. It meant constant rigor, every single step. Even installing it on-site was a huge hurdle, but the Schaffner teams handled it perfectly.

This project truly blossomed thanks to the close partnership between Schaffner and the Imagineers, right up to the very last detail. A Walt Disney Imagineering Project Leader put it perfectly: « When we saw that marquee finally installed at The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge, it truly showed the incredible quality and the immense attention to detail. It’s a testament to a fantastic collaboration and timeless craftsmanship. »

But this project wasn’t just about technical challenges for the Schaffner team. It was a deeply rewarding experience.
