Shanghai Disney Resort is gearing up for its 10th anniversary, and they’re kicking off the celebrations with a heartwarming initiative! On China Youth Volunteer Service Day (March 5), the resort officially launched « Give a Day, Get a Disney Day, » a fantastic program designed to say a massive thank you to local community volunteers.
Through this program, 10,000 Shanghai Disneyland park tickets will go to seven incredible local non-profit organizations. It’s a genuine gesture of appreciation for the tireless dedication of community volunteers who truly make a difference every single day.

But the generosity doesn’t stop at tickets! Shanghai Disney Resort is also investing in the future of volunteering. They’re partnering with the Shanghai Public Service Foundation for Volunteers to offer top-notch professional training. We’re talking about essential skills like recruiting new volunteers, organizing impactful activities, and even innovating program management. It’s a real boost for the community’s volunteer efforts!
Murray King, Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications at Shanghai Disney Resort, highlighted the resort’s deep roots in community support. He explained that this program continues their tradition of giving back. The goal? To inspire even more people to embrace volunteering and spread care, especially after these volunteers experience the magic of « With You, It’s Magic+ » firsthand.
The official launch ceremony for « Give a Day, Get a Disney Day » sounds like it was quite the event! Representatives from Shanghai Disney Resort and the Public Service Foundation for Volunteers gathered with the seven partner non-profits. These include crucial groups like the Shanghai Charity Foundation and the Children’s Foundation, all vital for their communities. Even better, about 500 volunteers joined them!
And it wasn’t just speeches – after the formalities, these dedicated volunteers jumped into a full day of professional training and experience sharing, all thanks to the Public Service Foundation.
So, how will these special tickets find their way to deserving hands? The seven non-profit organizations will manage the selection process. These groups do incredible work, supporting children, youth, seniors, and people with disabilities, and driving efforts in education, health, and more.
To qualify, volunteers need to have dedicated at least 10 hours of service within a specific period and apply through their respective non-profit. Imagine visiting Shanghai Disneyland during its 10th Birthday Celebration – that’s the exciting reward! The resort also encourages everyone, including its own Cast Members, to participate in « Give a Day, Get a Disney Day » and spread even more joy.
June 16, 2026, marks the big day: Shanghai Disney Resort’s 10th anniversary of its grand opening! But the party actually kicks off earlier, on March 20, with a whole host of new, exclusive experiences. They’re inviting everyone – guests, fans, Cast Members, and the wider community – to join the celebration because, as they say, « With You, It’s Magic+ ».
This « Give a Day, Get a Disney Day » program is actually the first big community initiative in this anniversary year, setting a wonderful tone of gratitude and encouragement for volunteering!
This commitment to giving back isn’t a new thing for Shanghai Disney Resort. Over the past ten years, they’ve consistently launched amazing programs: supporting children and families, championing environmental protection, inspiring future generations, and celebrating people with disabilities.
Their Cast Members and Imagineers have truly walked the talk, contributing over 77,000 volunteer hours to the local community since the resort’s groundbreaking in 2011. That’s positively impacted an incredible 1.75 million people, bringing so much joy and inspiration!
