As you wind through the queue at any of the three locations (Disney California Adventure, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Tokyo DisneySea), you’ll find yourself immersed in Andy’s latest toy: the Toy Story Midway Games Play Set.

Sheriff Woody, ever the leader, has taken charge of this cardboard carnival! He’s made sure all of Andy’s toys get a chance to host a game. Now, you – as an honorary toy – are invited to join the fun. You’ll hop into special Toy Story Carnival Tram vehicles, designed to look like a classic 1900s midway ride.

First, Mr. Potato Head will greet you. Grab your 3-D glasses, jump into a ride vehicle (each with a different Toy Story character decal!), and get ready. Your spring-action shooter is in hand, and the practice round awaits!

High Score Tips:

• Rex is your secret weapon! This friendly T-Rex loves games and puzzles, so listen carefully – he often drops valuable hints during each challenge.

In this initial round, Woody, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear, and Rex hold up targets, daring you to launch pies at them. They’ll try to dodge your shots, moving their shields. Don’t worry about hitting them; this is just your chance to get a feel for your shooter and your designated pie color.

No points here, so some players save their arm strength, while others use it to warm up. Do what feels right for you!

First up, it’s Hamm & Eggs! This barnyard booth is your chance to grab a supply of hard-boiled eggs and start aiming. Hamm and Buttercup are leading the charge, so get ready to knock down targets!

You’ll see all sorts of barnyard targets here – some are still, others move on conveyor belts, some are right in front of you, and some are hidden. Always watch for those surprise pop-up targets; they often hide big points if you hit them quickly!

High Score Tips:

• Want a huge score boost? Listen for Buttercup! When she gives the cue, aim straight for the fox in the henhouse door. Hit it, and a flood of high-value chickens will rush out, giving you a golden opportunity to rack up serious points. Keep hitting that fox whenever it reappears!

Next, Rex and Trixie host this awesome prehistoric game! Grab your darts and aim for colorful balloons, dino eggs, lava bubbles, and palm leaves, all surrounded by a fun cast of toy dinosaurs.

This is where ricochets are your friend! Darts often bounce off nearby balloons, setting off fantastic chain reactions that boost your score fast. Focus on clusters of targets to maximize these bounces. There are also some cool hidden scenarios to uncover throughout the game!

As the “countdown to extinction” begins, keep an eye on the volcano. Hit all three vertical balloons at its base every time they pop up. Do this, and you’ll trigger a huge eruption, sending a flurry of 500-point balloons into the air – a massive scoring chance for you and your partner!

High Score Tips:

• After that eruption, look up! Two meteors will appear in the top corners of the screen. This is a team effort: work with your ride partner to hit these targets over and over. Success triggers a meteor shower of bonus balloons, leading to one of the biggest score boosts in the game!

Permission to break plates? Granted! Sarge, the fearless commander of the Green Army Men, gives the order to “break those plates.” Grab your spring-action shooter and pretend you’re a baseball pro, throwing pitches at moving targets in this toy training ground.

High Score Tips:

• Beyond the plates flying through the air, keep an eye out for the gold, 1,000-point plates near each side of the booth. Hit these, and you’ll not only boost your score but also trigger a cool toy cannon animation on screen!

Plates are always on the move, pulled by tiny helicopters, tanks, and airplanes. But here’s a pro tip: focus on the two, 2,000-point plates that get tossed into the air on both sides of the mountain. If you and your partner hit both of them with a single shot, a tank might appear, bringing even more high-scoring plates to push your game to the next level!

As a huge Buzz Lightyear fan myself, this outer space-themed game is always a personal favorite. With its galactic targets and tons of high-value opportunities, it’s easily one of your best chances to seriously boost your score.

You’ll use your shooter to toss rings at all sorts of targets, including those iconic Aliens floating on their flying saucers and rocket ships! This game is packed with nods to “The Claw” and other galactic elements from Buzz and Woody’s Pizza Planet adventure. It’s your mission to Star Command to send your score to infinity and beyond!

High Score Tips:

• Look beyond the central rocket ship, and you’ll spot Aliens on flying saucers worth a whopping 5,000 points each! Make these high-scoring targets your priority to skyrocket your score.

While you might be battling siblings or friends, the biggest points here come from teamwork. Right at the start, work with your partner to quickly land rings on all the Aliens positioned on the rocket ship in the center of the screen. If you succeed, you’ll unlock a secret level where a giant robot appears! Aim for the robot’s mouth for massive points – and keep firing, because the points increase every time its mouth opens!

No Toy Story adventure is complete without Woody! This final, western-themed booth drops you right onto the set of the “Woody’s Roundup” TV show from Toy Story 2.

Here, you’ll aim your suction-cup darts at cacti, fences, and trees. Every hit not only adds to your score but also triggers fun animated gags – targets spin, collapse, and reveal even more chances to score!

Teamwork pays off big here too! If you and your tram partner manage to hit all the visible targets (and the hidden ones that pop up) at least once before your vehicle moves, a fantastic bonus happens: all targets will burst open simultaneously!

High Score Tips:

• Feeling the burn? Your arm might get tired during the bonus round! Don’t be afraid to switch which arm you’re aiming and shooting with to keep your energy up.

As your vehicle moves on, Jessie takes the lead for a frantic gold mine-themed bonus round finale. Mine carts zoom across the screen, their point values climbing rapidly – huge scoring opportunities! But also, look for bats at the top of the screen; they’re a sneaky extra way to boost your score.

Once the mine carts clear, a massive bonus target appears, with its point value soaring with every hit. This is your last chance to make it big, so fire as furiously as you can as the “mother lode of gold” rises into view!

Once you’ve blasted through all the games, your adventure ends at a prize booth hosted by some very familiar faces: Woody with Dolly and Mr. Pricklepants, Rex and Trixie, Jessie with Buttercup, and even the Aliens alongside Spanish-mode Buzz Lightyear!

Here, you’ll see your total score, how you did in each round, and which virtual plush prizes you’ve earned. Did you get the Bear for 300,000 points? Amazing!
