Summer in Southern California brings one thing: heat! And what better way to beat the warmth at Disneyland Resort than with a delicious, frosty treat? Forget sweating through your park day – I’m here to guide you to the coolest sips and swirls across Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
From classic ice cream to exotic slushies and invigorating cold brews, I’ve got your ultimate guide to staying refreshed while you explore the magic. Let’s dive in!
Ice Cream and Milkshakes
Toasty temperatures and ice cream are a match made in heaven. Here are some of my favorite spots to grab scoops, sundaes, sandwiches, and more as you get into the summer spirit.
Outdoor Vending Carts
For a sweet summertime snack, you’ll find the most classic options at snack carts all around the parks.
Fans (like me!) have always loved the iconic Mickey bars and ice cream sandwiches. These themed treats are easy to grab and enjoy while strolling around and staying cool. You can also find other frozen items like popsicles, frozen bananas, and chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches.

Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor
Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor captures the charm and cheer of an old-fashioned ice cream shop. It’s always one of my favorite stops on Main Street U.S.A.
Here, you’ll discover specialty sundaes, floats, and hand-scooped cups and cones. Add sweet toppings to make your dessert extra magical. Different scoop and sundae sizes mean you can share (if you’re feeling generous), but no judgment if you want it all to yourself!

The Golden Horseshoe
The Golden Horseshoe is another fan-favorite eatery in Disneyland Park. Beyond menu items like chicken tenders, fries, mini corn dogs, and fish & chips, they also serve incredible ice cream.
Grab an ice cream float – a nostalgic childhood favorite – or go for the more extravagant cookie butter churro sundae. Perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth this summer.

Flo’s V8 Cafe
Nothing says summer like a simple chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry shake! Flo’s V8 Cafe in Disney California Adventure is the dream spot when this is what you crave.
The classic milkshakes come topped with crushed cookie pieces designed to look like road gravel, perfectly playing into the Cars Land theme. You can even get them in a souvenir glass to take the fun home. I love sipping one of these while soaking in the sights and sounds of Radiator Springs.

- Flo’s Classic Shake: Vanilla, Chocolate, or Strawberry Shake topped with “Road Gravel” (also available served in a Cars Land souvenir Shake glass)

Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop
Some of the most decadent desserts at Disneyland await you at Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop, located within the bustling San Fransokyo Square in Disney California Adventure.
