Hello everyone, today we offer an article on our tour of the all new ecological and touristic complex, Villages Nature Paris at the gates of Disneyland Paris (4 miles of the Disney Parks).

This project, which was born 14 years ago on 19 May 2003, evolved as the years went by to become the current site. Villages Nature is a company stemming from the Association of the “Pierre & Vacances Group” and “EuroDisney S.C.A.”, with the experience of “Center parcs” (tourism complex with waterpark) and the detail that Disney makes on its projets . This is by no means a third park on the Disney site. The activities will be unique for some and no reference to Mickey is present since the company is independent.

Its peculiarity? The geothermal that takes the hot water at 1.3 miles underground at 172.4°F. Thanks to a network of 11.1 miles of canals, the waters are heated and distributed throughout the site as well as that of Disneyland Paris for all equipment and place of life. This saves nearly 9 000 tonnes of CO ² per year. The use of geothermal energy allows to satisfy, all the heat needs of Villages Nature but also up to 50% of the heat needs of the two Disney theme parks and the Disneyland Hotel, located further north. In total in Villages Nature, the bathing area to the Aqualagon offering water at 30 ° C all year round.

The objective is well to propose playful activities and sportive in link with a nature, having the least impact on it. For example : the electric transport, bicycle and choices of organic products for the family.

But let’s start at the beginning, we are the Saturday 3 September 2017, second opening day, 9.30 am

Here we are in front of the visitors of one day. Here visitors wishing to make a day of Accrobranche or visit “Villages Nature” are found at this welcome house. A bracelet running like the Walt Disney World’s Magic Band in Florida is distributed. This “Village Pass” provides access to the experiences included in the entrance fee but also to the options purchased during the day (pony or pedal boat rides, cooking classes, and many more).

But let’s not drag, Direction the “Ferme BelleVie” (Understand: Beautifull life’s farm)

This educational farm makes it possible to meet the animals of the farm but also to discover how the animals are nourished, their peculiarities and how they are treated, for example how to milk a cow!

A show scene

This place is the departure of many excursions and offers especially a moment of relaxation. This animal contact is the ideal to start the day. This farm also contains a grocery store, a bakery and an indoor playground for children “Lait’s Play” (understand “let’s play” ; in french “lait” means “milk” but the pronunciation between “let” and “lait” is the same). No doubt, even adults would like to play on this giant playground !

On the way out, direction “The Forest of Legends“.

This outdoor playground gives the youngest the opportunity to play in the open air in the forest. It is in a colorful style leaving free short to the imagination that children will be able to evolve. Just behind this space, a camp site allows you to find a show of legends, but also here is proposed one of the most amusing paying activities, the construction of a hut! At the exit of this forest, we uncork on a mini-golf offering a view of the pond and the Aqualagon.

After having conquered the hearts of the children, it is time to take care of the adults! For this the site offers a garden, a garden so huge that its name is the “Extraordinary gardens“.

You will have understood, there is not one, no two, no three but four gardens! To distinguish them, four themes were chosen: the land, the Fire, the Air and the water. This garden planted for a year before the opening of the site allows an excellent junction between the site to the north and the main activities in the Centre with the promenade and the Aqualagon (waterpark).

These “extraordinary gardens” bear well their names, with unevenness, playful and educational spaces, plants varying from an area and an architectural contribution, everything is done to be cut off from the world and the frenzy of the
promenade of the lake and the Aqualagon (waterpark).

The Land

Our course begins with the garden of the land. The latter makes it possible to visit a place where we can see vegetable gardens, flowers, and steel sculptures evoke the work of the land and its blooms. The heart of this place is the cascade surrounded by stones echoing and abstraction of environment.

The Fire

We arrive on a wooded area, the barks are present, red and black flowers, the soils that resemble volcanic rock and pollinating insects roam. A campfire space allows to relax in the evening and a giant nest reduces us in of chick. A walk on the heights allows you to give a view of the whole garden and the next.

The Air

This garden dedicated to the air makes room for large vegetation undulating in the wind, flags and other chimes bring tones and touches of colors to the area. This open space exposed to the sun allows, thanks to the wind (air) to sweeten the rays while inviting to continue the visit to the last garden.

The Water

The highlight of the visit to the gardens. The visit ends on one of the spaces where the landscaping is the most pushed making the visit refreshing.The colours of the place, the water flowing from all sides, the vegetation taking in part that of the plantations of the previous gardens, allows visitors to furrow in the passages to the summit, offering a view of the Aqualagon.

The “extraordinary gardens” are, you will have understood, a unique space where architecture, landscaping and the choice of plantations pushed to their climax to offer a place of wonder whose exploration and contemplation is done on Several hours from day and night. These gardens spread over close to the five acres are a real surprise that sensitizes man to Nature, awakens the senses and demonstrates the biodiversity of the Territory.

Coming out of the extraordinary garden, the Aqualagon (waterpark) call us. This structure is visible from all over the site, both from the apartment or the entrance visitors of a day at a distance of more than 0.7 miles.

This structure imagined by the architect Jacques Ferrier, is “bearer of its own landscape” it allows to be both an icon but also to hide in the environment with the reflections of the façade. This structure was conceived as a suspended garden which rises from the shores of the lake to more than 20m high, up to a lookout with a viewpoint at 360 ° on the entire site. Conceived as an unfolded origami, the frame consists of 800m3 woods from eco-certified forest with a culminating point in 27m of high.

The structure of the Aqualagon is wonderful, the cover are in wood while the humidity is particularly high with water at 30 ° C all year round. In addition, two water slides are suspended from this structure overlooking of 12 to 18 m of
hight the wave pool and children’s playground.

This recreational living area is THE location of the destination. And if the wave pool and the 7 indoor water slides, including the sublime “Crater” float slide, do not tempt you, close to 2500m² of outdoor lagoons await you with an overflowing pool facing the lake.

Lake Promenade

This place of meetings, shops and restaurants, borders the lake of 40 acres. Under a plant city, it is the perfect place for nocturnal activities such as the “Soirée Guinguette”, musical concert among others. There is also a bowling alley, a children’s club, as well as activities such as a pedal boat to see the biodiversity of the signs and ducks living on the lake.

Finally, whatever your place of accommodation, three electric bus lines will serve as relays for you to move around the site. The environmental commitment to avoid any impact and emission of CO ² is well thought out.

Feeling

The site is not yet fully open to the public. Not all cottages and apartments are finished. That said, the activities and structures offered to visitors are all operational. So we find ourselves in a scenario where all the facilities are oversized for the present clientele. It’s a little paradise for visitors! So you can be sure to take advantage of clean, new places in a virtually private setting while waiting for the opening of all accommodations.

Only 2 water Slides (Aqua coaster) are still closed in the Aqualagon, but should open for the halloween holidays. This problem is not one in view of the supply and quality of on-site service.

Moreover, if you do not live on site, visits to the day are possible at the price of €50 for adults and €40 for children in weekends andholidays (against €10 Less for the two categories on weekdays). This level of bias in view of the offer seems reasonable to me if one considers that the family stay with accommodation is the main target.

What comes out of it, apart from a few finishes here or there, is simply that the Parisian region is fortunate to have such a site at the gates of Paris with such a leisure offer.

It is a pity that there are not yet shops, selling souvenirs stamped Villages Nature.

Spent a week in the Villages Nature Paris with one or two days of visits to the Disney parks to come back in the evening in his cottage, can be a great family vacation if your temptation to visit the most famous mouse in the world is too strong.
