Hello everyone, here is our return on the 2018 Christmas season at Disneyland Paris.
This year again we find the Christmas decorations with a cast of blue and silver colors on Main Street USA. The Christmas tree on Town Square has 6 new decorations on each side forming the name “MICKEY”
This year the Christmas parade is coming back. The novelty is the new choreography of the parade plus fitting with the music.
On Central Plaza the decorations of the 25th anniversary are recolorised and placed on the mini scenes. The problem is for the nighttime show “Disney illuminations”, because they hinder to see the castle and the fireworks.
Do not delay, direction the Molly Brown to discover the progress of the site of Chaparral Theater. Construction is moving fast, and fortunately! Its opening is scheduled for the summer of 2019. The foundations have been sunk and the walls are in the process of being installed.
You can see the aesthetics of the new room. The colors used are warmer than those of the other buildings in the land. This is not surprising since, as announced since the opening of the site in 1992, since 1994 Splash Mountain is expected in this part of the park allowing to drain visitors to Frontierland and Adventureland.
After several months of interruption, the geysers are reactivated!
Mister Jack dressed as Santa Claus is back in the new permanent photo point on the Phantom Manor area.
The outer area of Phantom Manor has been completely renovated! The work is remarkable as the result is of quality. Whether it’s the woods, the scenery, the gardens, everything’s been redone. Among the novelties we can notice the new light that surround the house, but also new smooth staircases facing the main gate of the manor for access to the only Fast Pass paying that the attraction will propose as soon as it is reopened on 16 February 2019. Rumour has it that the reopening of the Phantom Manor would be staggered for the third time for the month of April 2019. Or 7 months of delay after the initial reopening date.
New Lights
Regarding the cemetery, it was simply refreshed.
At Fantasyland “it’s a small world” came back with its “celebration” (holidays) version which has not happened for several years. A happy return.
Finally, “A Merry Stitchmas” is back this year. A new sequence has been added, which unfortunately brings nothing to the show, except confusion by giving the impression that the show revolves around Goofy and not Stitch. We’re still having a good time.
Finally to finish our tour, direction the park Walt Disney Studios which is, apart from Front Lot, decorated for the holidays of year end !
We will start with a glance at the new decorations in the Parisian area of Ratatouille where a Christmas village and giant lights and balls have invaded the scene! The area of Ratatouille being supposed to be a replica of Paris and everyone knows that the city light, has a lot of decorations during the holiday season. So it makes sense to do it there, too. The only surprising thing is why haven’t they done it before? Anyway, it’s a good idea.
With the christmas village, you can see the same concept after the summer season. The food put up for sale is the same as at the Disney Village (downtown Disney), it is the same provider( wich is not disney).
Not surprisingly the reconduct of this type of trade in this area demonstrates two things:
The first is the success of this offer. When we propose new things, it works!
The second, the delay in the catering offer at Disneyland Paris. There are either popcorn or pancakes at 4-5 € or a fast food menu with no flavors at 16-17 € on average. There is no intermediate offer, so we find ourselves with a glaring lack of self-service/counter catering offering dishes between 7 and €13. And more generally, Disneyland Paris does not honor in the restaurants of its parks to its host country known for its gastronomy, France. One thing to note is that we eat a more diversified, more quality and more tasty food for an equivalent price in all the other Disney sites in the world. Why is Disneyland Paris making an exception?

Christmas decorations in the Ratatouille area:
Let’s go to the AniMagique Theatre. For the first time this winter the show “Mickey and The Magician” is not played leaving room for “Mickey Christmas Big Band”.
The show finds its place in the theatre with its style in this room with a sober decoration, the new costumes and two singers in addition. Formerly it was played in Videopolis at Discoveryland and was at least as good. It’s simple, if during your day you have to see only one Show/event, it must be this one.
Another show, another universe with #SurpriseMickey, a colorful show, surprising, Celébrant the 90 years of Mickey (without announcing the age of the mouse) at the foot of the Tower of Terror. It’s really a pleasant surprise.
Finally, comes the closing of the park with the night show “Goofy’s incredible Christmas” combining projections on the Tower of Terror and 5 characters on stage. This show was reviewed by drastically reducing the number of dancers, the projections, the storyline and the duration of the show by one minute. In the most, the show gains in pyrotechnics which is wonder in view of the number of scaffolds and the tarpaulins necessary for the renovation of the tower. They had to take all the fire safety measures.
Finally, in mid-February many attractions will be closed for renovations. This explains that from January to March 2019 the Disneyland Park hosts the “Princesses and Pirates Festival” and the Star Wars season at Walt Disney Studios Park.
Note that the Disneyland Railroad has been closed for a few weeks and will be minimal until at least March 2019. The park does not justify such a closure so far.
