With the opening of new shops at Disney Village, a brand-new costume has been created for the Cast Members, designed to complement the colors and architecture that inspired the creation of these new spaces. This touch of style and glamour will perfectly enhance the atmosphere and immersion for guests.

The journey began in 2022 with an artistic brief from Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and the Costume Design Office of Disneyland Paris’s Atelier Couture. From the ideation phase—also known as « blue sky »—and the presentation of the first concept art, to the creation of mood boards reflecting the artistic vision, several versions of the costumes were designed and presented before receiving final approval and handing the sketches over to the textile production team.

To create a timeless yet contemporary look, Tsvetislav Adreev, the designer behind the new costumes, drew inspiration from the uniforms of classic department stores, incorporating a nod to a distinctly French element—via the pastel polka dot pattern—which will also appear in the shops: macarons.
Working closely with him, Céline Chamard, Textile Development Technician, researched the ideal materials for the project, ensuring that Tsvetislav’s designs would be faithfully represented. She focused on finding sustainable fabrics that are easy to care for and comfortable for the Cast Members to wear.
“We pay great attention to listening to the Cast Members, ensuring the costume’s ergonomics are optimal, with breathable fabrics that are comfortable to wear,” says Céline.
Next, fitting sessions were held for the Cast Members of these new shops in collaboration with the Costume Design Office teams. These fittings are a crucial part of the final design process, allowing for the final adjustments before the costumes are made available to the Cast Members who will wear them.
