Over the coming months, the teams will completely overhaul the Plaza Gardens Restaurant, one of Disneyland Park’s most elegant dining spots. This isn’t just a quick refresh; we’re talking a full revamp of the floors, facades, and even the roof! But the work goes beyond modernizing the dining rooms and kitchens. They’re introducing a completely revisited color palette for both the exterior and interior, aiming to make the restaurant radiate a new Victorian spirit. It will keep its classic style, but with an elevated guest experience.
« Because this renovation is such a long-term project, we really wanted to make sure guests would see visible changes, all without betraying the original story of Plaza Gardens Restaurant, » explains Stéphanie Bohnhoff, Principal Show Designer at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris. « To further immerse the restaurant in a lush, natural ambiance, truly connected to the beautiful gardens outside, we’ve carefully selected new shades of green, celebrating the different seasons. It’s all about bringing that outdoor freshness inside! »
So, what can we expect inside? Guests will discover magnificently renovated interiors, boasting vibrant colors and carefully chosen materials to truly highlight the Plaza Gardens Restaurant‘s unique elegance. Picture new pastel green tiles harmoniously complementing a brand-new dark green carpet with beautiful floral patterns. In the dining rooms, regulars will surely appreciate the refreshed layout, featuring 291 chairs (most of them fully reupholstered!) and 40 redesigned banquettes, all focused on maximizing guest comfort.
And the iconic buffet area? It’s also getting some fantastic transformations! Expect decorative carved wooden elements to truly elevate the theme. But it’s not just about looks; they’re adding a lower-height buffet designed specifically for kids, plus brand-new breakfast furniture. These thoughtful touches will make the restaurant even more welcoming and practical for families and their youngest guests.
They’ve thought of everything! Every single detail, from carefully restored stained-glass canopies to repositioned decorative accessories, has been meticulously planned to preserve the very soul of the Plaza Gardens Restaurant. Even the lighting gets a special spotlight! They’re fully rehabilitating all the fixtures, restoring the brilliance of the bronze and brass metals, and modernizing them with LED technology.
