Mark your calendars! Starting July 24th, Disney Adventure World guests can dive into a brand-new experience: The Disney Princess Cavalcade.
This isn’t just a parade; it’s an epic journey! You’ll travel alongside iconic Disney Princesses, celebrated for their courage and adventurous spirits. Think about it: four princesses, four unique worlds, four wildly different stories. But what truly unites them? That unwavering determination to help their communities. It’s inspiring!
Look at Vaiana, sailing out fearlessly to save Motonui. And Raya? Her quest to piece together the Dragon Gem isn’t just about her; it’s about bringing her people and the lands of Kumandra back together.
This focus on belonging deeply inspired the cavalcade’s creators. You’ll see it woven into the floats themselves, like Vaiana’s Motonui village and Raya’s Dragon Palace.
Matteo Borghi, one of the show’s directors, shared some fascinating insights. He and Françoise Baffioni drew inspiration from the very spirit of adventure found throughout Disney Adventure World. « True journeys, quests, and explorations only happen when you’re rooted in your community and culture, » he explained. « It’s a classic Disney approach, and that’s exactly how we imagined this story. »
So, what did they do? Matteo and Françoise dove deep into the original animated films and the traditions of each culture. That’s how they crafted the floats, costumes, and even the choreography! And guess what? They teamed up with the amazing Cécile Chaduteau for the dance moves.
Let’s talk route! The cavalcade kicks off near the entrance of the upcoming immersive Lion King land. It then makes its way up towards The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge before returning to its starting point. But here’s the cool part: on the way back, get ready for an interactive moment! The Princesses will come closer to greet you.
Vaiana will teach you some traditional Pacific island dance moves, while Raya will show off some martial arts-inspired gestures. Françoise Baffioni explained, « This really brings Adventure Way to life! You already find all sorts of entertainment along the avenue from World Premiere Plaza to The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge. »
Music, of course, plays a huge role here – it’s practically a narrator! They created two original songs just for this event: one for when the cavalcade moves, and another for when it stops. And guess who’s involved? A team of songwriters, including Chris Sernel! You might remember his magic from « Ready for the Ride » for the 30th Anniversary, and the tunes from Alice and the Queen of Hearts: Return to Wonderland.
But this cavalcade brings a completely different musical vibe – it’s infectious, inspiring, and sprinkled with delightful Princess musical themes. And here’s a cool fact: they recorded all the music last November in Nashville with the city’s top musicians!
Right now, Matteo and Françoise are putting the finishing touches on this incredible new experience. Soon, they’ll kick off on-site rehearsals to make sure everything is absolutely perfect for this summer!
