  • Un Poco Loco! First Coco Attraction Details Revealed for Disneyland Resort at D23

Get ready to go “Un Poco Loco” because some incredible news just dropped about the brand new Coco attraction coming to Disneyland Resort! If you’ve been eagerly awaiting details since it was first teased at D23 2024, your patience is about to be rewarded.

At D23 2026, after a stunning live performance of “La Llorona” by the Grammy-winning Los Lobos, host Neil Patrick Harris, a true Disney superfan, welcomed the Walt Disney Imagineers onto the stage. Ali Rubinstein and Emily O’Brien, two brilliant minds from Imagineering, then shared exciting new insights into what we can expect from this groundbreaking ride.

Imagine stepping right into the vibrant, magical world of Disney and Pixar’s Coco! You’ll get to see all your favorite characters like Miguel, Dante, Héctor, and more, as we revisit Miguel’s unforgettable adventure into the Land of the Dead.

    Disneyland Resort Coco Queue

It’s fascinating to hear that Imagineers are working hand-in-hand with Pixar on this project, especially since Coco 2 is also in development. This close collaboration ensures the attraction will beautifully connect both the original beloved film and its upcoming sequel.

This new attraction will be a true celebration of everything we adore about Coco: its iconic characters, the heartwarming music, the rich Mexican culture, and that powerful, intergenerational love within a family.

The storyline kicks off about a year after the events of the first film. Your journey begins in the queue area, located in Pixar Pier right next to the Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind. This queue will immerse you in a “casa museo” dedicated to the legendary music of Miguel’s great-great-grandfather, Héctor Rivera.

From there, you’ll join Miguel himself and travel by boat through his vivid memories of the Land of the Dead. Expect a beautiful and incredibly moving experience, filled with surprises and pure joy. It leans heavily into the profound music and deep emotion of the cherished Pixar film, inviting you and your loved ones to live Miguel’s adventure right alongside him.

And here’s some fantastic news for everyone: this ride is truly for the whole family! There won’t be any height requirement, so even the littlest fans can join the fun.

Construction is already in full swing in the area between Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier. The Imagineers are even drawing inspiration from classic attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion to bring the skeletal cast of characters to life using the very latest Audio-Animatronics technology. How cool is that?

So, no need to say “goodbye and let it make you cry” – this highly anticipated Coco ride is coming to Disney California Adventure, and it promises to be an experience you won’t want to miss!
