Frozen Celebration – January 11 to May 3, 2020

The most frosty season of the year to start with as Disneyland Paris sells, 4 animations where you can find Anna, Elsa or Olaf!

So we have for this season, the day parade “Disney Star on Parade” with the nightime show “Disney Illuminations” played since April 2017, as well as the mini show “Frozen: A Musical Invitation” played since November 2019.

In addition to recalling the presence of the IP in the existing Entertainment, Disney justifies the creation of the season with the arrival of a new show “Frozen 2: An Enchanted Journey”. This show must live up to expectations, since it is the biggest commercial success of Disney Pixar.

At the same time, the new season’s float is the duplicate of one of the floats of the new California parade “Disney Magic Happens” which a premiere on February 28, 2020. An interesting preview of what will happen to our friends across the Atlantic.

The new show of the season has, it must be said, failed! We spoke with about 45 visitors to the parks during this day. The opinion is unanimous, the show is not good and does not justify alone selling this season.

There are many reasons for the failure of this season/show:

● A single float without other mobile element /vehicle/tank accompanying it
● Only 26 dancers and 3 characters
● Undynamic choreography
● Costumes of the men dancers to review
● Beautiful Elsa costume but unrelated to the film
● Privatization and poor exploitation of the center of Central Plaza and its scenes resulting in very poor visibility for more than 70% of visitors.
● Show on Central Plaza too short with only 5 minutes stop.

With this fact, it is extremely difficult to accept that Disney sold a season on the basis of this one small animation that should have simply been sold as such by the marketing department. But lo and behold, Disneyland Paris must sell great with few means. Be careful that this does not impacton satisfaction and finaly the attendance. It takes real courage to maintain premium services without falling into the ease of low cost from which is difficult to return.

If you want to come to Disneyland Paris only for this season and you can still turn around, do it! Alternatively, you can go to a safe value since 4 years, the Star Wars season at Walt Disney Studio Park!

This year we have again ” First Order March”, ” The Imperial March”, ” Legends of a Galaxy Far, Far Away” and the Wonderful Nightime Show ” Star Wars: A Galactic Celebration”

On the other hand, Disney need to coordinate its show with the work zone of Marvel Land which at night, without activity, all the lights (for safety) are activated but disturbs visitors with its powerful spotlight directly in the eyes!
