A brand-new escape is taking shape on the shores of Bay Lake. Disney Lakeshore Lodge brings a fresh, nature-focused vibe to the Disney Resorts Collection, and we finally have the first details on what to expect when it opens in summer 2027.
This new resort celebrates the beauty of the outdoors through the eyes of Disney artists. The design draws inspiration from Walt Disney’s own love for nature, with artistic nods to films like Bambi, Pocahontas, and Brother Bear hidden throughout the architecture and decor.
The Wetlands: Play and Relaxation by the Water
The outdoor heart of the resort is called The Wetlands. This recreation area sits right against the beauty of Bay Lake, offering plenty of space to unwind. For families, the storytelling starts here with play areas inspired by the music and art of Pocahontas.
Heron Shores features climbing structures for kids to explore, while Otter Springs serves as an interactive water playground with slides and splash zones. Both areas connect younger guests with nature in a playful, whimsical way.

If you prefer a slower pace, the Daydream River lets you float through the landscape. For a classic pool day, Lakeside Lagoon offers a zero-entry feature pool with a spiral waterslide. For those seeking quiet, Perspective Pond includes a leisure pool and whirlpool spa with a perfect view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks at night.

A Tribute to Disney History and Comfort
Walking through the grounds, you will discover facts about local plants and animals. Keep an eye out for a special plaque that honors the historic attraction that once occupied this very spot. It is a great touch for fans who remember the history of Bay Lake.
The resort features 967 rooms ranging from cozy studios to large suites. Many rooms look out over the lake, but the real standouts are the new Lake Houses. These one- and two-bedroom units sit right on the waterfront, offering families a closer connection to the environment.

Staying here puts you just a short boat ride away from Magic Kingdom. Guests will enjoy all the standard perks of a Disney hotel, including free transportation across the resort and extra time in the theme parks. We expect more details on dining and specific amenities as construction progresses.
