Disney Adventure World is transforming, and the stunning new promenade Adventure Way leads the charge with a timeless, romantic look. This isn’t just a path; it’s a love letter to the golden age of European gardens from the turn of the 20th century.
Imagineers are moving away from the industrial studio look to embrace Art Nouveau, a style that celebrates nature through organic lines and elegance. Bowie Faas from Walt Disney Imagineering explains that returning to these early inspirations brings us back to the very soul of what makes a Disney Park special.

The Legacy of Historic Gardens
The main inspiration for this area is Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. Opened in 1843, it remains one of the oldest parks in the world. Its creator, Georg Carstensen, envisioned a place where art, culture, and nature collide—a vision that now defines the heart of Disney Adventure World.
You can see this influence in the lighting design. Nearly 10,000 “popcorn lights” decorate the trees and buildings along Adventure Way. These sparkling lights recreate the magical atmosphere of historic European garden arches and garlands.
Walt Disney himself fell in love with Tivoli during a trip in 1951. That single visit influenced the creation of Disneyland and every park that followed, including the original Disneyland Park in Paris.

Architecture Inspired by Nature
Right at the entrance, two elegant gazebos set the Belle Époque tone. Creative Lead Andy Martin notes that every detail, from the handcrafted stained glass to the harmony of materials, makes the space feel welcoming and alive.
Art Nouveau isn’t just an aesthetic choice; it’s a philosophy. By using the organic motifs popularized by artists like Alfons Mucha, Imagineers have blended the architecture perfectly with the lush greenery surrounding the promenade.
A Bridge Between Disney and Pixar Worlds
This style acts as a poetic thread that connects different stories. Whether it is the whimsy of Peter Pan or the adventure of Up, every character feels at home here. Bowie Faas describes Adventure Way as a canvas where various Disney and Pixar stories coexist naturally within a unified architectural frame.

The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge
The crown jewel of this style is The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge. The design evokes iconic Parisian landmarks like Le Train Bleu. Inside, a massive mural by Imagineer Alfred Lee showcases Disney Princesses and Merida in stunning, unique costumes.
The entire restaurant captures the fairytale aesthetic seen in the movie Enchanted, which also drew heavy inspiration from Art Nouveau.

Disney Adventure World is building a new identity rooted in European heritage and romanticism. For those who want to see even more of the design process, all these details and more are featured in the new book Adventure has a new name: The making of Disney Adventure World.
