Take Dan Laske, a beverage concept manager with over ten years of experience. One of his recent creations successfully made the jump straight from a simple idea to active menu boards across Disney World.
From College Program to Flavor Expert
Dan started his Disney journey back in 2015 through the Disney College Program working housekeeping at Caribbean Beach Resort. Over time, he transitioned into various food and beverage roles across Animal Kingdom Lodge, All-Star Movies, and Port Orleans Resort.
Working closely with flavors sparked a genuine passion for recipe experimentation. He loved tweaking ingredients and discovering what combinations worked best together.
That dedication eventually led him to support beverage programs across the entire resort, helping food and beverage leaders craft the next wave of park treats.
A True Team Effort in the Kitchen
Dan came up with his latest creation while working as a guest experience manager at the All-Star Movies Resort food court. Surrounded by coffee and ice cream, he noticed what guests loved most and wondered what would happen if those two favorites merged into an Espresso Martini Milkshake.
After pitching the concept, he partnered directly with the Food and Beverage Concept team to source ingredients and lock down the recipe. He also consulted frontline cast members to ensure the drink could actually fit into fast-paced kitchen operations without slowing service down.
It took roughly 10 rounds of testing to get the proportions and preparation methods just right. Every single tweak brought the team one step closer to the final product.
“I had the most fun playing with the flavors and getting it to taste perfect,” Dan shares. Adjusting an ingredient by just half an ounce can completely transform the final taste.
