Mark your calendars, because this year’s fall festivities kick off even earlier than usual. Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort runs from August 21 to October 31, 2026. Over at Disney California Adventure Park, Plaza de la Familia celebrates from August 21 to November 2, 2026. And for those looking for extra thrills, Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party will light up select nights from August 18 to October 31, 2026.
Before the full spooky season takes over, you can also catch a limited run of “Paint the Night” parade and “Wondrous Journeys” in Disneyland Park from August 10-20, 2026. Plus, “World of Color – ONE” returns to Disney California Adventure Park starting August 10 and runs through the Halloween season.

Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort
If you love brisk autumn air, changing leaves, and a touch of the supernatural, then you’re in for a treat! The fall festivities at Disneyland Resort kick off in late August. Expect new looks for your favorite characters and wonderfully wicked decor everywhere you look. Halloween Time truly transforms the entire resort.

Character Outfits, Pumpkin Decor and Halloween Fun at Disneyland Park
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their friends will greet you in Town Square wearing brand new seasonal outfits. Think harlequin patterns, frilly collars, and swirling confection details in classic Halloween hues of orange, yellow, and black. It’s always a treat to see them dressed for the occasion!
Jack Skellington is back! He takes over the Haunted Mansion, turning it into the chilling Haunted Mansion Holiday. Inside, you’ll find a new gingerbread house design in the ballroom – and yes, you can smell it! Keep an eye out for Sally, Zero, and Oogie Boogie from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Capture that perfect fall photo in front of the legendary Halloween Tree in Frontierland. Or find a gourd with a Disney-inspired carving at the Main Street Pumpkin Festival, all centered around the iconic giant Mickey Mouse pumpkin. You might even spot a new pumpkin around the Partners Statue, paying tribute to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge with carvings of Chewbacca and the Millennium Falcon. Little details like these make the season so special!

As night falls, vindictive villains take over Sleeping Beauty Castle, Main Street, U.S.A., “it’s a small world,” and the Rivers of America with colorful projections during the “Halloween Screams” nighttime spectacular. Maleficent, Ursula, and other favorite fiends cackle in the sky to a medley of macabre music. On select nights, prepare for fireworks to light up the sky!
For those who want an extra dose of spooky fun, Disney’s Happiest Haunts Guided Tour offers a unique stroll through eerie tales across Disneyland Park and California Adventure. This tour costs extra and you’ll need valid theme park admission to join.

Halloween Rides and Family-Friendly Entertainment at California Adventure
At Disney California Adventure Park, a festive chill arrives with decor like Oogie Boogie silhouetted by a full moon, a burst of “bats” from the Carthay Circle Restaurant tower, and the Headless Horseman statue welcoming guests on Buena Vista Street. The attention to detail here is fantastic.

Cars Land becomes “Radiator Screams,” complete with “car-achnids,” a “pump-kin” patch, and residents in their favorite “car-stumes.” Take a break from your stroll with a spin on Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween. Every evening, supernatural spirits take over Cars Land for a haunting “Sha-BOO” moment, as the neon lights flicker on and illuminate the roads. It’s a must-see transformation.
Later in the afternoon each day, Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark takes over the Collector’s Fortress in Avengers Campus. You’ll team up with Rocket to distract menacing monsters and save Groot. Be warned, though… expect a few unexpected ups and downs!

Little ones who love dancing to Halloween tunes, playing with bubbles, and hanging out with Mickey Mouse and his friends will adore “Mickey’s Trick and Treat” at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land. This show starts on August 18 and is perfect for younger guests.

You’ll also find decor influenced by Día de los Muertos in a vibrant installation in Disneyland Park near Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante.
