Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort
No need to wait for crisp autumn air! The fall festivities kick off early at Disneyland Resort, running from August 21 to October 31, 2026. Prepare for new character outfits, wickedly good decor, and all the spooky fun you can imagine. Halloween Time is back, and it’s bringing its best!
Before the ghouls fully arrive, catch a limited run of « Paint the Night » parade and « Wondrous Journeys » at Disneyland Park from August 10-20, 2026. Over at Disney California Adventure Park, « World of Color – ONE » also makes a special return from August 10 and will stay through the entire Halloween season. A nice bonus before the main event!

Character Outfits, Pumpkin Decor, and Halloween Fun at Disneyland Park
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their friends get into the spirit with brand new seasonal outfits in Town Square. Think harlequin patterns, fancy frills, and sweet confection details, all in those classic orange, yellow, and black Halloween colors. They look fantastic!
Jack Skellington takes over Haunted Mansion once again, transforming it into Haunted Mansion Holiday! Look out for a brand-new gingerbread house design in the ballroom – yes, you’ll even smell it! And, of course, Sally, Zero, and even Oogie Boogie from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas will be there to greet you.


Grab your camera! The legendary Halloween Tree in Frontierland makes for a perfect fall photo op. Don’t miss the Main Street Pumpkin Festival, where Disney-themed carvings are everywhere, centered around the iconic giant Mickey Mouse pumpkin. Keep an eye out for a new pumpkin around the Partners Statue, celebrating Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge with Chewbacca and the Millennium Falcon!

Villains unleash their mischief every evening during the « Halloween Screams » nighttime spectacular! Catch colorful projections on Sleeping Beauty Castle, Main Street, U.S.A., « it’s a small world, » and the Rivers of America. Maleficent, Ursula, and other fiends bring a medley of macabre music, and on select nights, fireworks light up the sky. It’s truly spellbinding!
Want an extra dose of fright? Consider Disney’s Happiest Haunts Guided Tour. This unique experience takes you through eerie tales across both Disneyland Park and California Adventure. It’s an additional cost, so factor that in with your park admission.

Halloween Rides and Family-Friendly Entertainment at California Adventure
Disney California Adventure Park gets its own festive chill! Look for Oogie Boogie silhouetted by the moon, « bats » flying from Carthay Circle, and the Headless Horseman himself greeting guests on Buena Vista Street. The atmosphere is just perfect.

Cars Land transforms into the « fa-boo-lous » Radiator Screams! Expect « car-achnids, » a « pump-kin » patch, and all the residents in their best « car-stumes. » Don’t miss a spin on Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween – they’re always a blast!
- Supernatural spirits will take over Cars Land each evening for a haunting “Sha-BOO” moment, where the neon lights flicker on and illuminate the roads.
Every late afternoon, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! becomes « Monsters After Dark » in Avengers Campus. Join Rocket to distract the monsters and save Groot. Prepare for some thrilling drops and scares – it’s a whole new experience!

For the little ghouls and goblins, « Mickey’s Trick and Treat » at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land is perfect! Starting August 18, they can dance to Halloween tunes, play with bubbles, and meet Mickey and his friends. So much fun for the youngest visitors!
Halloween Food, Merch, and More Mischief Throughout Disneyland Resort
The Halloween magic extends to every corner of the resort, including Disneyland Park, California Adventure, and beyond. Get ready for tempting treats, « boo-tiful » merchandise, and charming autumnal touches everywhere!

The Hotels of the Disneyland Resort also join the fun with their own ghastly ornamentation! Look for brand-new decor inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. at Pixar Place Hotel, and classic Haunted Mansion touches at Disneyland Hotel. It really extends the magic.
And speaking of treats, the culinary teams at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disneyland Hotel are preparing some truly confounding (and delicious!) confection displays. You have to see them to believe them.

Adults aged 21 and over can also enjoy a special Halloween-themed cocktail menu at the Broken Spell Lounge in Disneyland Hotel. A perfect way to unwind after a day of scares!

For an extra cost, the talented stylists at Tenaya Stone Spa in Disney’s Grand Californian can give you a complete Halloween look with hair, makeup, or nails inspired by your favorite Disney characters. The Downtown Disney District also gets a bewitching makeover with autumnal decor, themed treats, and seasonal shopping. The Downtown Disney LIVE! stage and lawn will host movie nights on select evenings, showing classic fall films, or you might catch some fantastic live music performances. It’s lively and festive!
Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit
Join Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit! You can search for unique Disney-designed pumpkins across Disneyland Park, California Adventure, and Downtown Disney. Just buy a special activity map from various retail locations, complete your hunt, and redeem it for a keepsake prize. Remember, separate park admission is required to participate in the parks, but it’s a fun family activity!

Plaza de la Familia at Disney California Adventure Park
Beyond Halloween, Disney California Adventure Park hosts Plaza de la Familia, from August 21 to November 2, 2026. This beautiful celebration honors the everlasting bonds of family and the spirit of Día de los Muertos, with lovely nods to Pixar’s Coco.
Entertainment Inspired by Día de los Muertos
Let the music transport you during « The Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate the Musical World of Coco! » A traveling troupe brings songs like « Remember Me » and « The World Es Mi Familia » to life. Plus, enjoy vibrant live mariachi music at the Paradise Garden Bandstand. The energy is incredible!
Stroll through Paradise Gardens Park and admire the stunning marigold arch, impressive calaca (skeleton) statues, and a touching memory wall where you can honor loved ones. It’s a truly moving experience.

Food and Beverage Featuring Mexican Flavors
Paradise Garden Grill serves up special seasonal menu items. The Chilaquiles Carnitas Torta, with red chilaquiles, refried beans, avocado spread, queso fresco, pickled red onions, and a fried egg, served with chips, is returning and is a must-try! We’ll share the full Disney Eats Foodie Guide soon.

Disneyland Park also features beautiful Día de los Muertos decor near Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante. Expect a vibrant display of catrinas, calacas (skeleton figurines), colorful marigolds, and other traditional ofrenda items. It’s a stunning cultural showcase.

Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party
For even more spellbinding fun, you have to check out the Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party! This is a separately ticketed event, running on select nights from August 18 to October 31.
This after-hours party is fantastic for all ages. It’s your chance to wear an amazing costume, collect loads of candy, and enjoy select attractions with much shorter wait times. The party itself runs from 6 PM to 11 PM, and your admission actually gets you into California Adventure three hours before the party starts. Plus, you get unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital photo downloads from the event! That’s a great bonus.

New Street Party, Rare Characters, and Trick-or-Treating
