  • Star Wars and Fortnite Unite for a Connected Smugglers Run Adventure

Ever wished your adventure on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge could just keep going? Or dreamt of joining Hondo Ohnaka on a new mission far beyond Batuu? Well, get ready, because Disney just made that a reality!

During D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Disney unveiled something truly groundbreaking: Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run | Fortnite. This incredible, first-of-its-kind experience bridges the gap between the popular attraction at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort and an all-new Star Wars adventure in Fortnite called Smugglers Gambit.

Yes, you heard that right! What happens during your flight on the Millennium Falcon can now continue far beyond the spires of Batuu, or even kick off your adventure on the planet Ord Ryla, right within Fortnite.

Curious about how they pulled this off? Ray Gresko, from Disney Games and Digital Entertainment, and Asa Kalama, an executive from Walt Disney Imagineering, shared some exciting details on the Walt Disney Imagineering Center Stage. They talked about how they use Unreal Engine 5 to customize the ride experience and how their close collaboration with Lucasfilm led to the creation of Smugglers Gambit right within Fortnite.

At the heart of this whole crossover is Smugglers Gambit, a brand-new Fortnite island. Disney Games and Digital Entertainment developed it internally, setting the stage around Mersa Veta Station on the mysterious planet Ord Ryla. This experience plunges players headfirst into the exact kind of thrilling, risky business Hondo Ohnaka loves!

You’ll team up with your friends, tackle cooperative missions, battle it out against pirates and lingering Imperial forces, encounter wild creatures, unlock awesome new gear, and forge your reputation across the Outer Rim.

And knowing Hondo, expect plenty of twists and turns! Things could go wonderfully right, or, as often happens with our favorite rogue, spectacularly wrong.

Disney Games collaborated closely with Lucasfilm to craft new characters, locations, and stories that feel perfectly at home in the Star Wars galaxy. They also teamed up with Walt Disney Imagineering to ensure this digital adventure perfectly connects back to the thrilling experience guests have aboard Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

    Ready to Accept the Mission?

Mark your calendars! Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run | Fortnite kicks off on Sunday, August 16, 2026! You can join the fun when Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios near Orlando, Florida, open their gates that day. And yes, Smugglers Gambit will go live in Fortnite at the very same time. Best part? This experience is included with your valid theme park admission at no extra charge!

To jump into this incredible adventure, simply accept the special mission while you’re in the attraction queue using your Disneyland app or the My Disney Experience app. You can also start your journey directly from the Smugglers Gambit island in Fortnite.
