Tee Off at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course

Imagine a relaxing escape surrounded by Florida’s lush magnolia trees. That’s Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course, a perfect spot for your next golfing trip with family, friends, or even fellow Disney enthusiasts.

Before you dash off to Magic Kingdom Park for late-night rides and fireworks, come play 18 holes here. You’ll find a great blend of classic course design and creative Disney storytelling. This course is known for its tall trees, wide fairways, dozens of sand bunkers, and some tricky water hazards – 11 of the 18 holes have them!

What’s really cool? Each hole at Magnolia has a Disney-themed name, inspired by a classic Disney story or character, often paired with a quote from Walt Disney or Arnold Palmer. The course spans 7,505 yards. While you play, grab a bite or drink at Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Deli, right next to the putting green, or from character-themed refreshment carts driving around the course.

Make sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before your tee time to get the full Disney Golf experience. That includes a nice warm-up and stretching on their full-service driving ranges. Before you step onto the first tee box at Magnolia, here’s what you need to know:

Grumpy’s Gauntlet at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course

Recently, four incredible reimagined holes opened at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course, and they’re collectively known as Grumpy’s Gauntlet.

Located towards the end of the back nine, holes No. 14, 15, 16, and 17 offer a challenging, Disney-inspired test of your skills as you finish your round and head back to the clubhouse.

Each of these holes demands smart club choices and precise putting. You’ll need to navigate huge bunkers, tricky doglegs, and some of the course’s most undulating greens. Take a look at these four holes, including my personal favorite, No. 14. Don’t forget to snap a selfie with Grumpy’s statue when you get to the teeing ground!

Holes to Play in Grumpy’s Gauntlet

    • No. 14 (Par 4) – The Backside of Water [506 yards from the back tees]
    • No. 15 (Par 5) The Dinglehopper [597 yards from the back tees]
    • No. 16 (Par 4) An Element of Fun [456 yards from the back tees]
    • No. 17 (Par 3) The Big Green [231 yards from the back tees]

Conquered Grumpy’s Gauntlet? You can even customize and print your own certificate to show off your perseverance! Check with the pro shop for details.

Swing Away at Disney’s Palm Golf Course

Right next to Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course, Disney’s Palm Golf Course invites you to drive, chip, and putt your way through 18 holes set within Central Florida’s beautiful woodlands.

This course got a fantastic redesign in 2013, bringing in completely new green complexes, reshaped tree lines, and updated bunkers. It really gave this historic layout a modern edge! The course measures 6,840 yards from the blue tees, weaving through scenic lakes, towering palm trees, tropical sands, and sloping greens.

Be warned: water hazards come into play on nine holes, and 59 bunkers across the property demand careful shot selection from both casual golfers and pros. Strong iron play and a confident driver are key to scoring well on Palm, which features four par 5s. It’s a huge reward for players who balance power with precision. Get ready to earn your own green jacket in a setting that only Walt Disney World can offer.

Nestled near Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course boasts an 18-hole championship design that blends a classic course layout with scenic views of Central Florida’s waterways.

It measures 6,718 yards from the championship tees, winding through rolling fairways, mature pine trees, and a picturesque lake that affects play on several holes. Precise shot-making really pays off here for experienced golfers, but it’s still very playable and great for newer players easing into an 18-hole round.

Another huge plus? Its ideal proximity to Disney Springs. It’s super easy to go from the fairways to shopping, dining, or an evening stroll around the marketplace once your round is done. FootGolf at Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course

Ready for something really unique? FootGolf is a dynamic mix of soccer and golf, and it’s exclusively offered at Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course for guests of all ages. Instead of clubs, you kick a regulation-sized soccer ball across the course, aiming for 21-inch diameter cups. Think eagles, birdies, or even an albatross if you’re a former soccer star!

The rules are pretty similar to golf, including traditional scoring and using bunkers and hazards. It’s a super fun experience for families wanting to get outdoors during their Disney World trip.

Intrigued by this sport? Here’s what you need to know about playing FootGolf at Oak Trail:

    • You can book tee times to play 9 holes of FootGolf on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday afternoons. These slots are either before or after those playing a traditional 9-hole golf round.
    • For a group of four, expect a 9-hole round to take about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
    • No soccer cleats! Stick with traditional golf course shoes.

Sink Some Putts at Winter Summerland Miniature Golf

Need a break from the hustle and bustle? Winter Summerland Miniature Golf, located near Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, is the perfect family-friendly escape. It blends fun mini golf with that signature Disney charm.

The backstory here is just delightful. One Christmas Eve, Santa Claus was flying back to the North Pole when he spotted snow… in Florida! Intrigued, he decided to build a vacation spot for his off-duty elves. They created two totally different golf courses: the sunny Summer Course and the snowy Winter Course.

Even if Florida’s weather changes, Santa’s project gave us two distinct mini golf experiences. Having visited this spot countless times as a kid, I highly recommend adding it to your Disney World itinerary. It’s a fantastic break from the parks, especially if you have toddlers, preschoolers, tweens, or teens in your group!

What To Know About Winter Summerland Miniature Golf

    • Location: 1548 W Buena Vista Drive, Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830.
    • Nearby: Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

    The Summer Course

If you prefer flip-flops and tank tops, dive into sun-soaked fun on the 18-hole Summer Course. You’ll find surfboards, sandcastles, and ornaments hanging from palm trees in a beach-themed wonderland. Putt your way around peppermint-striped inner tubes and snapping clamshells, all while trying to get the lowest score.

Be extra quiet on your last putt on No. 18 – you definitely don’t want to wake up Santa, who’s buried in the sand at this tropical golfing spot!

    The Winter Course

As a huge fan of the holidays myself, I’ve always loved a little « Christmas in July. » Add that to my passion for sports, and you’ve got the perfect, budget-friendly addition to my own Disney World vacation. Putt your way towards the North Hole on the 18-hole Winter Course, dodging sprays from Squirty the Snowman, who gleefully squirts water at players as golf balls pass beneath him.

Other obstacles include giant peppermints, hockey sticks, and a melting castle. This course really challenges players to overcome adversity amidst all the wintry fun. With a putter in hand and jolly vibes all around, it’s a perfect midday golf escape for competitive youngsters eager to test their skills in a snow-filled wonderland.

Mark Your Scorecard at Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf

Inspired by the magic, music, and pure brilliance of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Fantasia, Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf is just steps from the EPCOT Area Resorts at Walt Disney World. It offers two distinct 18-hole courses: one is super family-friendly, and the other provides a scaled-down, yet challenging test for more competitive groups.

On the Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course, iconic moments from the film truly come to life through clever obstacles, whimsical fountains, musical themes, and intricate details. As you play, you’ll spot five enchanting scenes featuring the mysterious Yen Sid, tutu-clad hippos, graceful pirouetting ostriches, and even marching broomsticks ready to give golfers a little splash!

Meanwhile, the Fantasia Fairways Miniature Golf Course steps up the challenge. Sand traps, water hazards, and sloping greens make it an exciting test for more experienced putters. This course even features par-3 and par-5 holes, ranging from 63 to 109 feet long.

This layout might just be the « toughest » mini golf course at Walt Disney World. It offers a truly unique putting experience, with awesome views of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels nearby.
