  • D23 2026: Day One Highlights from The Ultimate Disney Fan Event!

Welcome to D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event! It’s a gathering designed just for fans, and we’re thrilled to be right here, soaking up every magical moment.

We’re live from the Anaheim Convention Center for D23 2026, bringing you our favorite floor moments as we explore pavilion after pavilion at this year’s incredible event.

Come along and follow our journey throughout the weekend! The convention floor is already bursting with amazing cosplay, exclusive merchandise, and captivating pavilions that every Disney Parks fan will love.

Kicking Off the Day Inside the Anaheim Convention Center

The excitement was absolutely electric! My D23 outfit was on point, and my new Star Wars shirt finally got its grand debut. I was ready to hit the show floor and mingle with Disney fans who’d traveled from all over the world to be here.

First stop? The “Imagineering: Horizons” pavilion! We stepped right through the Promenade of Progress to get an exclusive sneak peek at upcoming Disney parks projects across every resort. For even more details on what’s heading to Disney parks globally, make sure to tune into the Disney Experiences showcase on Disney+ this Saturday night. You won’t want to miss the “Horizons: A Carousel of Progress” showcase either!

    VoluntEARS

After that, we started mapping out our next pavilion visits. Suddenly, trumpets blared! A live band kicked off the morning’s festive fun with memorable Disney classics. We also swung by the VoluntEARS pavilion, where cheerful Cast Members helped us put together Disney-themed donation bags for Make-A-Wish children. It was such a heartwarming moment.

    D23 Marketplace Disney Iconics
    Grogu and Huttlet

Next, we dove into the D23 Marketplace! We checked out the adorable Disney Iconics plush – seriously, who can resist a red popcorn cart or a Main Street, U.S.A. trashcan plush? We also got our first look at the brand-new Batuu Adventure Buddies, which are set to arrive at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort.

    Spotting Costumes Across the Floor

Day One has been a delightful experience, packed with passionate fans and endless photo opportunities. But for me, one of the absolute highlights has been spotting the incredible costumes inspired by attractions, characters, and memorable elements from across all the Disney Parks.

    Janice Muppets

Amidst a sea of pirates, Space Rangers, and Disney Princess characters, some cosplays instantly became icons. Take Kristen from Orlando, Florida, for example. She dressed as Janice from The Muppets, channeling the spirit of the recently opened Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Amazing!

    Poison Apple

Another instant favorite was Anny from Philadelphia, who sported an outfit inspired by the iconic Poison Apple from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Her creativity was truly impressive.

We’ve seen so many other fantastic costumes throughout the day, and we can’t wait to share more as the weekend unfolds!

    Tom Lizard

A Brief Pit Stop at the Pixar Booth

Disney and Pixar’s Hoppers and Toy Story 5 are already two of my favorite movies this year. So, a stop at the Pixar Pavilion was a top priority to dive even deeper into my fandom! I even managed to spot the elusive Tom Lizard, hiding right below the pavilion’s marquee.

    Fantasmic Record

Before heading back for lunch, I made a quick detour to the Disney Music Booth in Hall B. We’d seen the “Fantasmic!” vinyl all over social media this week, and as huge fans of the show, checking it out was a must! Holding that vinyl instantly transported me back to the Rivers of America, reliving the climatic battle between daring heroes and epic villains.

Good news for fans: this vinyl is available to order exclusively at D23 2026, and it includes free standard shipping. Imagine bringing the heart of this longtime nighttime spectacular right to your home record player!

Day one of D23 was fantastic! We’re already looking forward to more memorable moments. Stay tuned for all the updates as we continue exploring the show floor.
