D23: A Glimpse into Future Innovations
Every two years, the D23 conference serves as Disney’s premier platform for unveiling upcoming projects and attractions across its global theme parks. The event offers an exciting preview of new additions set to open their doors over the next three years, including details on immersive experiences and the types of ride vehicles that will transport guests.

Avatar Adventures and Encanto Concepts
Among the notable announcements, a future immersive experience inspired by Avatar promises a deep dive into Pandora, potentially aboard boat-like vehicles capable of seating around thirty people, reminiscent of the advanced engineering seen in Pirates of the Caribbean at Shanghai Disneyland. Furthermore, for an Encanto-themed attraction, eight-person ride vehicles are being considered, in line with sophisticated transport systems like those used for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

Ride System Innovations and Specifics
D23 announcements cover a wide array of concepts. While 12-person “log flume” style vehicles for a Lion King-inspired experience at Disneyland Paris were mentioned, along with 6-person vehicles for “Piston Peak National Park” drawing inspiration from Test Track, these concepts illustrate the diversity of ideas being explored. It’s important to remember these don’t always reflect officially confirmed projects with exact specifications. D23 always remains a key event for anticipating the future evolution of Disney Parks.
