Disney Lakeshore Lodge isn’t just a hotel; it’s an immersive escape. Once it opens, you’ll discover The Wetlands, a huge outdoor recreation area right past the lobby, hugging the stunning Bay Lake.

This space really brings fun and relaxation together. Kids will love the whimsical wet and dry play areas, inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Pocahontas. Remember the lyrics “the heron and the otter are my friends” from “Colors of the Wind”? Those playful connections come to life here!

Heron Shores offers imaginative climbing features for explorers, while just “around the riverbend,” Otter Springs bursts with interactive water fun, perfect for little ones to splash and slide. And nearby, the lazy Daydream River invites everyone to just float along, taking in the beautiful landscape at a leisurely pace.

Lakeside Lagoon at Disney Lakeshore Lodge

The heart of The Wetlands is Lakeside Lagoon, the resort’s zero-entry main pool. Families will gather here under the Florida sun, with a cool spiral waterslide emptying right into the refreshing water. For a quieter escape, Perspective Pond, tucked away on the other side of the resort, offers a leisure pool and a whirlpool spa – a perfect spot for evening views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks!

Whether you start your day with a calm float or end it watching the sunset over Bay Lake, every part of The Wetlands connects you to nature. It perfectly balances stunning beauty and peace with moments of discovery and play.

Wander along the scenic path, and you’ll find fun facts about the local plants and animals. Keep an eye out for a special plaque honoring a beloved historic attraction that once stood right on this spot – a neat detail for Disney history buffs!

And the best part? All this fun is just a boat ride away from Magic Kingdom! Staying at a Disney World hotel means you get fantastic perks, like complimentary transportation across the entire resort and extra time to enjoy the theme parks.
