Ever wondered what truly makes Disney destinations so magical? It’s often the incredible Cast Members behind the scenes. And sometimes, that magic truly runs in the family!
At Disney parks and resorts around the world, creating happiness is a beautiful family tradition. We often see generations of Cast Members building meaningful careers, filled with purpose, unique opportunities, and immense pride in their work.
This Father’s Day, we celebrated these amazing dads whose love for creating memorable guest experiences blossomed into something even greater: a shared family journey. From our parks, resorts, to our ships worldwide, children who once looked up to their fathers’ Disney careers now proudly carry forward a tradition rooted in hard work, heart, and the power of storytelling.

A Father-Daughter Disney Journey Fueled by Disneyland Magic
Let’s dive into one of these incredible tales, featuring Lily and Jim, a special father-daughter duo at Disneyland Resort.
Their journey began in 2011 when Make-A-Wish and Disney granted Lily her dream trip. She sailed aboard the Disney Dream to the Bahamas, ready for ocean magic and swimming with dolphins. But an even bigger surprise awaited her.
Her father, Jim, a U.S. Army Veteran with 23 years of service, had just returned from an 11-month deployment overseas in Iraq. Make-A-Wish arranged for him to join Lily and the family on the ship! Jim is also a member of Disney SALUTE, our veteran employee resource group that honors and empowers Cast Members with a military background.
While on board, the Moser Family was completely blown away by the incredible care from the Disney Cruise Line crew members. “The way the crew treated us, we felt like the only people in their orbit,” Jim raved. “The trip was magical in every way and it’s a memory our entire family will always cherish.”
Following her wish, Lily felt a strong desire to inspire others. She joined the Make-A-Wish Oregon chapter volunteer team as a Wish Ambassador, bravely sharing her story of hope. What’s more, Jim also served the chapter as a wish granter, helping make dozens of wishes come true for other children.
In 2021, after moving from Portland, Oregon, to sunny Southern California, Jim started his Disney career with the Disneyland Resort Security Special Services team. A year later, feeling inspired by her dad, Lily began her own Disney journey with Disney Imagination Campus.
To celebrate their incredible Disney journey and the magic of wish granting, we invited Lily and Jim to our Wishes Assemble event. Disney, Make-A-Wish, and MrBeast hosted this event, which celebrated nearly 40 wish children and their families on World Wish Day at Disneyland Resort.

Lily and Jim now reflect on their time at Disney as a true full-circle moment. What was once their annual family vacation spot is now a place where this father-daughter duo can reminisce, feeling immense pride in representing the magic daily as Cast Members. Disney will always hold a special place in their hearts.
“My life would not have been the same without the hope, strength, and joy Make-A-Wish and Disney brought me and my family,” Lily said.
Lily is proud to share she is now seven years seizure-free, and her critical illness diagnosis is considered resolved. As a father, Jim couldn’t be happier.

Disney Dads Inspiring the Next Generation at Walt Disney World
Across the country, at Walt Disney World Resort, we find another inspiring story. Brian’s journey began with a honeymoon trip that actually convinced him and his wife to move from Chicago to Central Florida, all in search of a better future. He started as a Walt Disney World Resort bus driver and steadily built his career over time, all while supporting his family.
Through the Walt Disney World Electrical Apprenticeship Program, he developed new skills and grew into leadership roles. Today, he helps lead the overnight Engineering Services operations that keep Magic Kingdom powered and ready for guests each and every day.
At home, his children watched that incredible journey unfold, witnessing the persistence and pride he brought to his work.
