  • Disneyland Paris: The Essential Project for a 3rd Park

The future of Europe’s number one tourist destination is taking shape today. A new electrical substation is currently under construction, marking a crucial and essential milestone for the resort’s development.

    Massive Power for Future Expansions

With a capacity of 225/20 kV, this new electrical substation—entirely dedicated to Disneyland Paris—will provide an unprecedented energy infrastructure. This massive project is calibrated to cover all current needs, but more importantly, to power future expansions.

Its location is strategic: situated away from major traffic flows to allow quick access for public utility services, it sits right next to the land plots reserved for multiple new hotels and the highly anticipated third park.

And yes, by tripling the resort’s power supply, there’s definitely room to do some pretty amazing things!

Third Park: Construction Is Progressing Side by Side

On the ground, the signs are unmistakable. The berms surrounding the 3rd park area continue to grow. Part of these landscaped ridges has already been erected using excavated soil from the Disney Adventure World expansions, and new berms are currently being shaped in the southern part of the zone.

Hotels: The Real Goldmine Before the 3rd Park

But before a third theme park rises from the ground, another expansion—much more strategic in the short term—is vital for Disneyland Paris: a major increase in its hotel capacity. This is where a massive share of the resort’s revenue is generated.

In fact, occupancy rates at Disney hotels are incredibly high. Combined with the premium pricing, these results are the envy of almost every player in the tourism sector. This massive success explains why the hotel offering continues to grow around the resort. Thanks to its gigantic land reserves and master plans, Disneyland Paris has the theoretical capacity to double its number of rooms, as highlighted in a projection plan shared by the company with public authorities.

Infrastructure Already Geared Up for the Future

On-site, this anticipation has been visible for several years. Back in 2019, the main road serving the Disney hotels was partially widened to a divided highway by public authorities. This road improvement directly aligns with the development schedule approved by Disney under the convention binding the company to the French government. This strategic document allows public services to coordinate infrastructure (roads, utilities) so that it keeps pace with the site’s evolution, ensuring smooth traffic flow despite growing attendance.

A “Value” Resort Project in the Cards?

Among the possibilities seriously considered for these plots, a “Value” category hotel project—modeled after the famous All-Star resorts at Walt Disney World in Florida—is on the table. Current blueprints suggest a complex of four buildings, one of which already includes an option for future expansion to maximize guest capacity.

One thing is certain: Disney has all the flexibility it needs to expand. Whether driven by occupancy rates high enough to justify extensions, deploying new hotel complexes, or breaking ground on a third park, the company possesses the land, the support of public authorities, and, above all, the immense anticipation of its visitors.

Did you know? The acreage of these reserved plots is so gigantic that it could easily fit the equivalent of the legendary Tokyo DisneySea park on its opening day!
