Grab your pith helmet and get ready for a toast! Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Hotel is celebrating 15 years of tropical chaos, and the new updates are worth the trek.
Tucked away at the Disneyland Resort, this spot has become a legendary hideaway. It is more than just a bar; it is an immersive story filled with Society of Explorers and Adventurers lore, terrible puns, and drinks that trigger special effects throughout the room.

A Legacy of Adventure and S.E.A. Lore
The story dates back to 1938 when explorers Dr. Leonard Moss and Dr. Kon Chunosuke journeyed up the Nile. After a narrow escape from hippos and rhinos, they lost their expedition field notebook. Trader Sam eventually recovered it, using their botanical notes to create his famous concoctions.
Look closely at the decor and you will find pieces of Disney history. The bar features a nod to the Dominguez family, the original owners of the Disneyland land, and even artifacts from Indiana Jones. Legend says Professor Jones celebrates his discoveries here often, especially after finding the Temple of the Forbidden Eye.
The New 15th Anniversary Hyena Mug

Collector alert! To celebrate 15 years, Sam presents a brand-new Hyena Mug. It comes paired with the Barrel of Mischief cocktail and officially hits the bar on May 30. If you want to skip the line, look for the early mobile order release on May 29.
Tiki mug culture at the resort draws inspiration from the 1930s Hollywood era. Beyond the new hyena, you can still grab the Zombie Mug, the Piranha Pool Mug, and the Krakatoa Punch Mug. Keep an eye out for hidden gems like the original ship-in-a-bottle from the Adventurers Club or a harpoon from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
New Flavors for Every Explorer
The menu just received a major overhaul. Whether you arrive for a jungle breakfast or a midnight snack, the kitchen has something new. The physical menus even look like Sam’s worn field notebook to keep the story alive.
Breakfast at the Bar
- Ube-stuffed French Toast: Japanese milk bread with coconut custard and ube cream.
- Loco Moco Burrito: Steamed jasmine rice, beef patty, fried egg, and gravy.
- Tropical Pancakes: Macadamia nut buttermilk pancakes with passion fruit curd.
- Kalua-style Pork Breakfast Croissant: Pork, bacon, and scrambled eggs on a toasted bun.
Lunch, Dinner, and Cocktails
The drink list now includes classics like the Jungle Bird and Navy Grog, alongside Trader Sam originals like Ginger’s Pear-adise and the Old Kungaloosh. For food, explorers can dive into Tonkotsu Ramen, Furikake Fries, or a hearty Angus Hawaiian Cheeseburger topped with grilled pineapple.

Seating is available both inside the bamboo-lined bar and on the outdoor terrace. Inside is where the real magic happens, with Cast Members channeling the wit of Jungle Cruise skippers. Every visit turns into its own small adventure, especially when you order a drink that makes the volcano blow!
