  • Beyond Frozen: Discover Disney Adventure World’s Breathtaking Green Transformation!

While snow forever blankets the North Mountain slopes in World of Frozen, spring bursts forth everywhere else inside Disney Adventure World’s exciting new expansion. Prepare to discover breathtaking, vibrant landscapes unlike anything you’ve seen!

Your journey into this verdant world kicks off right at the entrance to Adventure Way. Think of it as a « Main Street » made of pure nature – a peaceful haven. It perfectly transitions you from the bustling spectacles of World Premiere Plaza straight into the incredible, immersive adventures waiting around Adventure Bay.

Here, nature beautifully connects all the different celebration spots along the path. A double row of trees, lit up each evening by thousands of twinkling bulbs, shelters the various themed gardens in this area. You’ll find the Toy Story garden, bursting with geometric topiaries shaped like toys. Then there’s the elegant Gazebo Garden, featuring a delicate kiosk and graceful bronze statues of Disney Characters. Don’t miss the Raiponce Tangled Spin garden, with its serene pond reflecting the film’s iconic boat. And of course, a future garden for the classic Disney Pixar film Up will eventually complete Adventure Way once its attraction finishes construction.

“We want to make sure every guest feels truly immersed in a pleasant and natural landscape,” explains Marc Boulanger, Superintendant Landscaping for Walt Disney Imagineering. “That’s why Disney Adventure World now boasts over 1,500 new trees, not to mention hundreds of thousands of shrubs and bushes of all kinds. From the park’s tallest 17-meter oak tree to the smallest flower, we really think about every single scale!”

As you walk along Adventure Way, it’s like a grand curtain slowly rising in a giant theater. The lush greenery thoughtfully reveals the spectacular panorama of Adventure Bay bit by bit. What a reveal!

To your right, The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge showcases a distinctly Art Nouveau aesthetic. Its refined, plant-inspired ornaments beautifully echo the natural surroundings. It’s a perfect blend of architecture and nature.

The nearly 3-hectare lake at the heart of Adventure Bay truly is its masterpiece. It offers not only a magnificent view but also becomes the new central hub of Disney Adventure World. Just like Central Plaza in Disneyland Park, it connects all the different park zones. Plus, the clever landscaping around the lake even gives you a sneak peek into each land! Expect a colorful, forested area bordering Worlds of Pixar, a more urban feel near the restaurant alley, a lush wet meadow leading to the future Lion King-themed area, and of course, a rocky heath as you approach World of Frozen.

Once again, vegetation makes the transition between themed zones absolutely seamless. Near the upcoming immersive world inspired by The Lion King, Imagineers already planted specific trees along the path with this in mind: Gleditsias. This tree species has a less structured, more natural look, perfectly evoking a drier, savanna-like landscape. Genius, right?

Adventure Bay isn’t just pretty; it’s a major show venue for Disney Adventure World! Each evening, it hosts Disney Cascade of Lights, a truly magical experience. That’s why Imagineers designed the surrounding landscaping like a giant outdoor theater. Tiered terraces gently slope down to the lake, ensuring as many guests as possible get the very best view of the spectacular show.

Over in World of Frozen, two distinct moods beautifully blend together. This design choice helps Imagineers perfectly recreate all the diverse spaces and atmospheres you know from the films.

On one side, the village surroundings simply burst with lush vegetation. Rocks dominate the landscape, just like water and dense forests – Imagineers drew direct inspiration from Frozen II for these woods! In some spots, all three elements combine beautifully, like around the stunning waterfall on the hill next to Arendelle Castle. The whole design feels incredibly natural, mimicking the majestic Norwegian fjords to truly immerse you in the films’ universe.

Then, on the other side, around Arendelle’s main square, the vegetation becomes much more subtle. This helps guests move freely and truly lets the stunning architecture shine. Look closely at the lower parts of the buildings – you’ll see planters filled with beautiful flowering plants like roses and perennial geraniums. These carefully chosen blooms subtly echo the stylized crocuses, symbols of the Kingdom of Arendelle, which adorn the streets and facades everywhere you look.

From Adventure Way to World of Frozen, and from whimsical themed gardens to the majestic forests of Arendelle, nature truly reigns supreme throughout Disney Adventure World. It’s an absolute triumph!
