Hello everyone, here is the news of this last weekend of September between the firts day of the new permanent version of the Tower of Terror and the Halloween season and budget cuts of the destination.
Disneyland Paris offers one of the best attraction updates we’ve had with Phantom Manor. This rehabilitation offers a new lease of life to this iconic attraction and introduces more modernity while not distorting the atmosphere and the Storyline. In itself a rehabilitation brings a little novelty to this tower that was beginning to get a little tired in a park currently under construction.
This adventure in the Tower of Terror begins as usual in the hotel lobby where nothing has changed since a night of october 1929.
In the library, nothing to report, There also the plot remains the same, Storyline clear and dramatic as it should for the twilight zone.
Finally, you will understand, the engine room has also no modification.
It is now that serious things begin. Disney said, There are three scenarios (one per elevator shaft) that have in common being haunted by the ghost of the little girl! A wise decision that reinforces the frightening side of history but also of adventure.
Excapte this, each scenario has its own twists and turns, whether in terms of history or sensations. Completely forget the idea that the falls are done directly after the two different scenes. Everything you know about the unfolding of the original attraction is to be forgotten. Disney is starting from a blank sheet to redraw the history and falls of the tower, because yes, you can do more than 6 down in one of the scenarios!
La Machine Infernale – The Infernal Machine :
This is the scenario that has the most jumps completely confusing and unpublished ! And the icing on the cake, this elevator refers to the original version of the tower. But beware, you will be surprised by this machinery is somewhat … crazy !
Les Monstres en Cage – Monsters in Cage :
She’s been telling you. There’s a monster! It is in the elevator shaft… don’t shout… Why not listen to it? Because yes, the beast is lurking…. It attacks the cables, it is more and more threatening … Worse again, she will drop you go more than 6 times in the void, while the little girl will continue to tell you to remain silent.
If you’re a fan of an agonizing atmosphere and multiple ups and downs, this scenario is for you. It will make you travel in a world and a dimension of green and purple colors that will make you forget between two fears, that you are already at the top of the tower!
In practical terms, what can be learned from this new version of the Tower of Terror can be summed up in 3 points!
1. The tower is now more modern, the effects are worked, well integrated (except the hologram of the little girl coupled with that of the family of the original version in the scenario of the infernal machine). In addition, lighting effects such as LEDs and projections make the experience more colorful and captivating.
2. Disney Engineers understood that visitors were asking for “Fun”. And they were able to test that with the “Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Beackout” in California. The result is conclusive in France with a good storyline that does not distort the history of “the Hollywood Tower Hotel” and its multiple and unpredictable drops that bring side “Fun”. Now, we are lucky in France not to have stumbled upon a transformation of the tower as in California.
3. Finally, with this update it can be noted that now every model of the tower of terror in the world offer a unique experience.

At the same time, restaurants such as “Walt’s an American Restaurant”, “Victoria’s Home-Style Restaurant”, “Toad Hall Restaurant” and others in Adventureland and Frontierland as “Colonel Hathi’s Pizza Outpost” and inthe second park “the BlockBuster Cafe” or “Restaurant des Stars”, are closed for budget cuts. It is best to avoid dinner one evening on weekdays during a visit to Disneyland Park. The situation is so chaotic that it is best to fall back on the Disney Village (French version of Downtown Disney).
The same is true on big weekends, outdoor food points of ice and other popcorns are usually half closed, imposing visitors 30 minutes waiting for an ice cream while the attractions all turn with a minimum one hour in waiting time .
On the attraction side we can count on the closure of Indiana Jones and Nautilus mainly for budget cuts and the same goes for the reopening of the Disneyland Railroad which will not take place until March 2020, that is, almost 2 years of closure!
Yes the mismanagement of American parks on the opening and sale of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge have impacts on Disneyland Paris. Unfortunately, the overall experience of the destination is low.
Between the economic closures, the renovations, the halloween season too light and a Walt Disney Studios park running with 11 attractions out of 17 it’s disappointing. We have to go back to 2005 to relive this very unpleasant situation. Thank you Bob Chapek!
